Agree to disagree?
In the world we live in today, everyone has different opinions, backgrounds, and the way they believe the world should look like. This is what makes us all unique, creative, and brings interesting new ideas to this world. Without this difference, the world would be just a repetitive place of the same ideas and people. Although this difference is necessary and important, does it require humans to constantly be in a state of war and arguing? Where is the balance? What is the median we need to reach? These are questions I do not want to answer for you, but I think all people should think about before becoming bias and picking one "side" or "opinion".
This brings up the topic of open-mindedness. Do we as a planet often think with a goal of being kind, understanding, and open minded? While this topic could become political, I am not specifically saying it has to be that. Theres many other areas, for example creativity, creativity flourishes when we allow ourselves to have no biases. I recently began doing yoga, meditating, and working on positive thinking. It has given me the opportunity to sit down and take a deep look at what is in my heart and my mind. It does not need to be so deep, but I find when I am unbiased, I am so much happier. I still have opinions, but I am not putting those opinions as other's responsibility. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having an opinion, but then there should be an understanding that everyones opinion is going to be a little different. So my question for the reader and to myself is this; In what ways can you be unbiased and yet still remain opinionated? Just some food for thought.
I LOVE this concept. Period.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful writing! I love how you always explore how someone else might think about something or that there is always another point of view.
