Common Decency?

   

 

Common decency, a topic that many either don't care about or refuse to do. Is this a sign of my classmates ages or is this something that is here to stay? I was taught as a kid that common decency and treating everyone with kindness was and is always the right thing to do. Respecting others is not only the ethical thing to do, but thats how most would like to be treated as well as yourself. I feel that my generation was not properly taught/does not care to follow, the idea of common decency. 

    I am currently sitting in the student lounge, quietly I am doing my own homework, being as quiet and respectful to those around me as possible. Although I am listening to a group of students in the back speaking, swearing,  and laughing loud enough for the whole room to hear. They have no concern for those that are in here to work, do homework, and quietly have a place to relax. It is rude to think that you are the only one in a room and to act as though what you are saying is of more importance than what everyone else is doing. On a daily, it shocks me as how people live their lives in anger and pain. No regard for the lives around them. I would hope that this will change with age and wisdom, although I feel we should all be a little more aware of our surroundings and be more decent to those that are affected by us.
