School?
In most ways, school is completely necessary. In most countries, it is illegal and/or extremely discouraged that a student does not go to school. This would be from grades kindergarten to 12th grade. So almost 13 years of our childhood spent learning in classrooms and schools. The United States offers free education when attending a public school and has lots of opportunities for low income homes. The real question is what about after those years?
I think a lot of people are fortunate enough to have those opportunities or at least be able to work and make that happen. We forget those that cannot afford a higher collegiate education. Yes, there is scholarships and grants. There are options, but how hard are they to receive and how much work is it to even enter for those opportunities. I think it is important that is researched and understood. College costs a lot of money for the full opportunity and is a big struggle for many families. The answer to this question remains a big unknown, but for right now college is not always the best plan for everyone. Research other options and do not be afraid to go to college, or to not go.
